Ryder had his 15 month check up today. He is almost 32 inches long, weighs only a little over 22 lbs, and his head is a little over 18 inches. So, he's 50% in height, 25% in weight, and 60% for his head. So, he has grown almost 2 inches since his 12 month check up and weighs the same. The doctor said he is more than likely filling up on milk since he drinks around 18 to 20 ounces a day and should only be drinking about 12 ounces. oops! :) So, he suggested that I reduce his milk and see if that helps with his appetite. He got 3 shots, which upset him and me quite a bit. He was in such a great mood, and then they just had to give him those shots. :( He cried for a bit, but was a big boy and got over it quickly. The doctor said he looks great, and very active. He was all over the room and talking up a storm. We will be going back for his 18 month check up in 3 months.
Some new updates on Ryder:- He is walking and running like a pro now
- He is trying to say "thank you" (sounds like "tha hoo"), "light" (sounds a little like "ight"), "night, night", and said his first sentence the other day, "bye, bye dada" (this was very clear) while he was waiving bye to Travis. It was VERY cute!
- He is understanding more and more every day. We can tell him to do things and he understands them and follows our direction really well. Here are a few examples, "go get your milk", "let's go take a bath" (he will head straight for the bath tub), "go get a book and bring it to me", "are you hungry" (if he is hungry, he will go to his high chair and wait for me)
- He learned to drink from a straw, so now he loves to drink milk and juice from a juice box
